Grace Shin
Grace Shin is a South Korean journalist who joined CNA from Arirang TV, South Korea's largest international broadcasting channel, where she was the lead presenter and reporter.
Throughout her career, Grace has received multiple accolades, including 'Best Production' and 'Reporter of the Year' in 2023. She was part of the team that launched Arirang’s flagship program, 'NEWs Generation', which aims to engage younger audiences. As a features reporter, Grace has covered a wide range of issues, from interviewing Afghan war refugees to producing a series on South Korea’s science and ICT developments. Notably, she was among the first to report live from the Itaewon crush accident site in 2022 and has conducted investigative pieces with survivors of Itaewon and the Sewol Ferry disaster. Grace has also covered significant political events such as the 2022 South Korean presidential election and the Camp David Trilateral Summit in 2023.
Grace holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ewha Womans University and a master's in international studies from Seoul National University, specialising in East Asian geopolitics and inter-Korean relations. Her expertise has made her a respected commentator, frequently contributing as a correspondent for international outlets such as DW News. Her experience spans various media platforms, including digital journalism at Yonhap News Agency and radio broadcasting at TBS, showcasing her adaptability in a changing media landscape.
