Wang Zheng

Wang Zheng is a prime-time anchor for Mediacorp, Channel 8 news, fronting Hello Singapore, Singapore Today and News Tonight, the channel’s flagship evening news programs.

Since joining Mediacorp in 2005, Wang Zheng has proven to be an effective bilingual news professional. In 2012 she was assigned to Shanghai, China, as CNA’s correspondent reporting in both English and Chinese for Mediacorp.

Wang Zheng has interviewed prominent public figures across various fields including Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Inc, Hamish Dodds, then president/CEO of Hard Rock International, Chinese moguls Wang Jianlin, chairman/president of Wanda Group, Zong Qinghou, chairman of Wahaha Group, Chinese contemporary artist and activist Ai Weiwei, actor and philanthropist Jet Li, Chow Yun-fat.

A consistent figurehead at milestone events, Wang Zheng has covered major news affairs including the 2011 Singapore presidential election, 2012 by-election, 2012 anti-Japan demonstrations in China, 2020 Singapore general election, first VTL trip from Singapore to Australia in 2021, Singapore National Day Parade, New Year and Chinese New Year celebrations, and the Singapore Grand Prix.  Wang Zheng is also well versed in Singapore’s art scene. She has hands-on reported into various art practices, covered major art events including Singapore International Festival of Arts and Singapore Art Week, championed artists across multiple fields, genres and backgrounds. 

By invitation, Wang Zheng has become a regular media trainer at Singapore Media Academy. In these sessions she shares her journalism experience and media expertise with a diverse, local and international audience.

Wang Zheng has been nominated for Best News Anchor and Best News Report at the Asian Television Awards and Singapore Star Awards.

王征的中英文双语能力出众，她不仅在新加坡以华语播报和采访新闻，也曾派驻中国，作为亚洲新闻台通讯员在上海以中英文为新传媒多个频道提供新闻报道。

她采访过各领域的众多知名人士，其中就包括苹果公司的联合创始人史蒂芬·沃兹尼亚克，硬石国际前总裁哈米斯·杜多，中国万达集团主席王健林，中国哇哈哈集团主席宗庆后，当代艺术家艾未未，知名演员李连杰和周润发等。

她也报道过各类新闻大事件，包括2011年新加坡总统选举，2012年新加坡补选，2012年中国反日大游行，2020年新加坡大选，2021年新加坡-澳大利亚疫苗接种者旅游走廊首通行程，新加坡国庆日和新年庆典，以及新加坡一级方程式赛车盛事。

王征近年来也特别关注新加坡艺术领域的发展，她除了对各大主要艺术活动，例如新加坡国际艺术节、新加坡艺术周等大型活动进行采访，也对各艺术类型和不同背景的众多艺术家进行深度特写报道。

除了走在新闻报道前线，她也常以客座老师的身份在新加坡传媒学院为海内外学生和专业人士提供新闻及媒体培训。
