Desmond Tan
Desmond Tan is a Singaporean actor and singer who started his acting career after joining Star Search 2007, a Singapore TV reality talent competition. Desmond won his first Rocket award at the 2012 Star Awards for the most significant breakthrough after a critically acclaimed performance as a rickshaw driver Luo Xiaoxiao in Mediacorp’s anniversary TV series, A Song to Remember.
In 2018, Desmond won Best Actor for his performance in When Duty Calls at Star Awards. In the same year, Desmond took on a psychopath serial killer role in Code Of Law 3 and subsequently season 4, winning many over with his applauding performance, thus leading up to the creation of the Derek 1 and 2 series. Desmond has received 6 Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes in 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022.
Desmond began venturing into the regional market with various productions. He clinched the lead role in the movie The Big Day, acting alongside Taiwanese actress Amber An. Desmond then received another lead role in the Singapore and Hong Kong ViuTV co-production series, The Blue Tick, as well as Singapore and Taiwan co-production TV series All Is Well. In 2019, he participated in the Taiwan TV series Falling into You which is on Netflix, Apple TV, MeWATCH, and more.
