Mohamed Rafi
Mohamed Rafi, an executive producer and presenter at Mediacorp’s Indian News and Entertainment radio station Oli 968, has been a prominent figure in the industry for over 26 years. Known for his passion for innovative programming, he made headlines with a 65-hour non-stop broadcast in celebration of Radio's 65th Anniversary. During the 70th Anniversary, he took part in a 72-hour "silence challenge," emerging victorious and raising $14,000 for SINDA, both of which marked significant milestones in his career.
Rafi’s exceptional talent has earned him numerous accolades, including the Pradhana Vizha awards for Most Popular Radio Presenter in 2002 and 2003. From 2004 to 2007, he won the Singapore Radio Awards for Favourite Tamil Radio Personality, and in 2005, he received the prestigious Radio Personality of the Year – Media’s Choice award. Additionally, his creative work earned him the 2005 award for Most Creative Programme Trailer.
Beyond radio, Rafi has contributed to National Day celebrations, serving as a celebrity cheerleader in 2004 and providing live commentary on radio for five years and on television in 2006. He has also accompanied listeners on trips to destinations such as Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Europe, Turkey, and Australia.
Alongside his radio career, Rafi has hosted numerous stage shows, private events, and television programmes, including appearing as a guest judge on TV reality shows. He also hosted the popular programme Hello V Live on Vannathirai. He has contributed to mainstream channel productions.
Previously, Rafi hosted the weekday radio show Tea Kadai from 4 pm to 8 pm. Currently, he co-hosts the Vanakkam Singai Morning Drive Time show alongside Haleema Asman, and hosts the weekend show on alternate Saturdays from 10 am to 2pm.
