I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Media and Digital Practice.
The Management Trainee Programme (MTP) has been an immensely rewarding experience! One of the most significant benefits has been the opportunity to expand my professional network. Through my rotations in the various departments, I have had the chance to connect with a diverse group of colleagues, mentors, and industry experts who have shared invaluable insights. In addition, the programme has given me a clearer understanding of the operational side of the media business, which has allowed me to contribute meaningfully to projects. It's definitely sharpened my ability to think strategically and bring fresh ideas to the table.
The decision to apply for the MTP was driven by my desire to gain a comprehensive understanding of the national media network and its ecosystem. I saw the MTP as an excellent opportunity to fast-track my professional development, particularly in terms of building leadership skills. The programme promised exposure to a wide range of experiences across the different departments, which I believed would allow me to grow both personally and professionally. My goal was to gain hands-on experience in media management while learning how the intricate processes that drive the business are structured and executed.
A key highlight of my MTP journey is definitely the friendships I have built along the way. Each department rotation provided me with unique opportunities to collaborate with different teams, and it’s through these experiences that I have formed lasting connections with my colleagues. These relationships have not only enriched my time in the programme but have also broadened my perspective on teamwork, collaboration, and leadership.
If anyone asked me whether I would recommend the MTP, my answer would be a resounding yes! It is one of the most interesting and valuable job experiences I have had. The programme offers a blend of practical experience and professional growth that is difficult to match elsewhere. It is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of the media industry while developing essential leadership and business skills.
Overall, the MTP has been an incredible journey of growth, learning, and personal development. I am really looking forward to continuing to apply the lessons I have learned and seeing where the future takes me!
