1) What would you consider to be the highlight of your traineeship experience?

It would definitely be the handling of the Tech Refresh Projects. I was well guided during the planning and execution stages, which gave me an insight on the skills needed to successfully manage the project.

2) Is your current role similar to what you did during your traineeship? 

It is mostly similar, but there are more tasks assigned to me now after being converted to a full-time staff. Nevertheless, the conversion was smooth as the traineeship had prepared me well, with the skills required for the role. There was a structured training programme, and I also had a mentor guiding me throughout my traineeship period, which helped with my learning curve.  

3) Why Mediacorp? 

I chose to stay in Mediacorp as I personally feel that it is a good place to learn and grow. Also, the people here are always ready to help each other!

4) Any advice to students or recent graduates looking for internship/traineeship opportunities in the media industry?

I would say just go for it! You will never know if you never try. The skills you learn during your internship or traineeship may unlock many doors for you in the future.

… fulfilling, especially when I successfully deliver large projects on my own!
