My Star Awards 2022 Experience

Channel 8 programmes have been a constant source of comfort for me since my childhood. In fact, many of these shows are so sincere and wonderfully created that they inspired me to step foot into this field. I wanted to be a part of them, to bring joy, comfort, and valuable entertainment to people everywhere. Hence, joining Mediacorp and being part of this industry was so meaningful and had always been a goal of mine.
I was tagged to the Chinese Audience and Content department for five months, working on creating original Chinese content of various genres and strategising content releases to optimise audience consumption.
The most memorable part of my internship would be the preparation for the Star Awards 2022. I had the privilege of experiencing first-hand the process of preparing for such a large-scale event, and it felt surreal to work with people I have always looked up to. As compared to watching the show on TV, witnessing it behind-the-scenes was a whole new experience.
I supported various promotional content of this production and got to come up with names and episodic titles for programmes such as Beyond the Script and I Am Not The Star. I also get to liaise with esteemed judges and nominees of the Star Awards 2022. Being able to work with a local company to produce trophies for the newly launched MY PICK! Awards was also memorable.
My journey at Mediacorp was nothing short of amazing and I was given many precious opportunities I would not have been able to experience anywhere else. In the span of a few months, my confidence and understanding of this industry has grown exponentially.
Getting to participate in a broad range of projects equipped me with comprehensive knowledge and strengthened my critical thinking, teamwork, and adaptability skills. What I miss most is the uplifting environment, which made it easy for learning. I especially want to thank my colleagues and supervisor who were so patient and nurturing, which made my internship experience an unforgettable. Thank you for believing in me even when I doubted myself!
