Mediacorp sweeps 27 awards at regional round of Asian Academy Creative Awards 2019
Singapore, 17 October 2019 – Mediacorp has secured wins in 27 out of 40 categories at the regional round of the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA) 2019. These winners qualify as the Singapore entries that go on to compete with other regional winners in AAA 2019’s final round of competition in December.
A key event at the Singapore Media Festival (SMF) 2019, the second edition of Asian Academy Creative Awards will see 40 awards handed out on 5 and 6 December 2019, celebrating works from around the region.
At the regional round, judges have selected the best local programmes and performances within 15 locations: Australia & New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Mediacorp’s 27 wins for Singapore are for programmes shown on its free-to-air channels and its digital entertainment destination Toggle. They include nine wins by CNA programmes and five wins by a single production, Beijing to Moscow, made by August Pictures for Toggle:

Last year, Mediacorp won 29 out of 47 awards in the regional round of the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2018. The national media network went on to win five awards at the inaugural edition of the awards during SMF 2018.
