Go the whole hog with Mediacorp’s first festive Blu-ray experience, complete with cute pig plushies!
Singapore, 6 January 2019 – “Sow” success with “猪饱饱”, the perky pig figurines fronting the Mediacorp Lunar New Year Album 2019《猪饱饱欢乐迎肥年》, an anthology of 16 songs* and videos available for the first time in Blu-ray Disc, CD+DVD and thumb drive.
This year’s trio of toys personifying prosperity (“富贵饱”), happiness (“幸福饱”) and health (“健康饱”) will join trotters with celebrity crooners Zoe Tay (郑惠玉), Pierre Png (方展发), Rebecca Lim (林慧玲) and Romeo Tan (陈罗密欧), among other fan favourites.
The album was officially launched at a media and industry partners’ event co-organised by Sony Singapore and Mediacorp on Sunday, 6 January 2019 at 313@Somerset.
Mixed and mastered by Mediacorp Audio Post (新传媒音乐音效组), highlights from《猪饱饱欢乐迎肥年》to keep an ear out for are “猪饱饱驾到”, an all-new number penned for the Year of the Pig; and bonus track “好势无”, the theme song for dialect drama How Are You? 《好世谋》, currently airing every Friday from 11.30am to 12.30pm on Channel 8.
The limited-edition Blu-ray issue includes seven music videos** enhanced by DTS:X immersive audio capabilities, with the version for the original track “嘻嘻哈哈过新年” rendered in virtual reality (VR) – scan a QR code in the accompanying lyrics booklet and you will be directed to a YouTube link simulating a three-dimensional soundscape.

The Mediacorp Lunar New Year Album 2019《猪饱饱欢乐迎肥年》retails for $19.90 (CD+DVD), $29.90 (thumb drive) and $35.90 (Blu-Ray), and is available at Sony Stores in Singapore, Popular/CD-Rama stores, Poh Kim outlets and Giant Hypermarts.
