Singapore, 22 December 2020 – In a move to further strengthen its corporate development and customer engagement strategies and capabilities, Mediacorp has named Chief Corporate Development Officer, Angeline Poh, as its Chief Customer Officer in a concurrent appointment, with effect from 1 January 2021.

As part of Mediacorp’s senior management team since 2018, Ms Poh led the Corporate Development and Strategic Planning teams that maintain oversight for and execution of corporate-wide strategic projects and initiatives. The Chief Customer Officer role, which oversees Mediacorp’s customer engagement and programming across its multiple platforms, including English, Chinese, Malay and Indian audiences, was formerly helmed by Irene Lim, who left the organisation in June this year.

With her roles, Ms Poh will also continue to oversee the Singapore Media Academy (SMA).

Before joining Mediacorp, Ms Poh was the Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Industry Development Group) at the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), where she spearheaded efforts to develop a vibrant infocomm and media ecosystem. Prior to the formation of IMDA, she led the Media Development Authority’s (MDA) industry planning and development group. She was the Managing Director of McGraw-Hill Education (Asia) before joining the MDA. In this role, she led the growth and digital transformation of the company’s business in Asia. She began her career at the Singapore Economic Development Board, where she held various leadership positions from 1999 to 2011.

Mediacorp CEO Tham Loke Kheng said: “With her strong leadership and deep knowledge of the infocomm and media industry, Angeline has been a valuable member of our senior management team. Adding to that, with her strategic capabilities, business acumen and experience in transformation, she is well placed to take our customer engagement strategy to the next level as we accelerate our efforts to drive innovation across the organisation.”

On her new appointment, Ms Poh  said: “As Singapore’s national media network, Mediacorp is at the centre of a vibrant transmedia ecosystem, engaging over three million people in Singapore daily across four languages on our variety of TV, radio and digital platforms. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that abound in driving our corporate and customer engagement strategy to ensure that we continue to stay ahead of the curve and true to our mandate.”
