O.M.A Crowned as Winner of Anugerah 2021

Singapore, 9 April 2021 – The 11th season of Anugerah 2021 came to a rousing climax as O.M.A emerged top at Mediacorp’s flagship Malay talent discovery competition! The band was presented with the winner’s trophy and a cash prize of $25,000 after impressing judges with their strong vocals and exciting performance.

At the Grand Final held earlier this evening, O.M.A performed rousing renditions of Salam Terakhir, a tune selected by themselves, and Sinaran, a song chosen by judges Najip Ali, Ann Hussein as well as guest judge and rock veteran ‘Papa Rock’ Ramli Sarip. O.M.A’s crowning brings to a close a season of Anugerah that combines previous editions of the show, such as Anugerah Band and Anugerah V, and welcomes participation from a wider pool of contestants aged from 16 to 60 years old.

Saát was the first runner-up and was awarded a trophy and cash prize of $8,000. Ace Iskandar was second runner-up and Raliff Ismail was third runner-up, and they each walked away with a trophy and cash prizes of $5,000 and $3,000, respectively. All four finalists had emerged after 10 weeks of intense competition among 18 shortlisted soloists and groups who faced elimination each week.

Besides the gripping competition among the four finalists competing for the top prize, the Grand Final of Anugerah 2021 was truly a night of music as local crooner Hady Mirza also took to the stage, together with performances by previous Anugerah champions Hyrul Anuar (2005) and Mohd Shahfiq (2017).

Sabariah Ramilan, Mediacorp’s Head of Malay Audience & Eaglevision said, “We thank all our contestants and fans for their fervent support over the past few months. While Anugerah 2021 ends tonight, the journey is only just beginning for O.M.A and all the other brilliant talents that we have unearthed throughout the competition. My heartiest congratulations to O.M.A and all finalists!”

Fans who missed tonight’s Grand Final of Anugerah 2021 can catch the show on-demand on meWATCH and Mediacorp Entertainment on YouTube.
