Emerald Hill – The Little Nyonya Story draws over 1.35 million viewers on Mediacorp platforms, on top of holding Top 10 spot on Netflix in Singapore and Malaysia for four straight weeks

Singapore, 11 April 2025 – From a chart-topping premiere to sustained viewership growth, Mediacorp’s period blockbuster Emerald Hill – The Little Nyonya Story 小娘惹之翡翠山 (“Emerald Hill”) has cemented its place as a standout regional success for the national media network.

Since its premiere, the series has drawn over 1.35 million viewers across Mediacorp’s streaming platform mewatch and its free-to-air Channel 8 – and that’s not counting the growing audience across regional and global platforms, with the title available across Southeast Asia via Netflix; to global travellers via Singapore Airlines’ inflight entertainment system KrisWorld; and additionally in Malaysia via Astro and Netflix, as well as in Taiwan, via streaming platform friDAY and TVBS 42. On Netflix, Emerald Hill has remained in the “Top 10 TV Programmes” list in both Singapore and Malaysia for four consecutive weeks and counting, following its earlier milestone of becoming the first Mediacorp Chinese drama to reach the #1 position in Singapore upon debut. These mid-season results reflect the show’s strong and sustained following, and Mediacorp’s continued success in creating stories that resonate with audiences at home and across the region.

Virginia Lim, Chief Content Officer, Mediacorp, said: “We are proud of everything Emerald Hill has achieved so far and excited about how it continues to unfold. It has been a true team effort – from the creatives to our distribution teams and commercial partners – each playing a vital role in bringing this story to life. From the very beginning, our goal was to tell a story that’s authentic and meaningful, and it has been inspiring to see the passion and collaboration that have shaped the series. We hope the series fuels a wider conversation about the power and potential of homegrown content, and look forward to sharing more stories that resonate deeply with audiences in Singapore and beyond.”

Produced by Mediacorp and headed by Executive Producer Loh Woon Woon, Emerald Hill is a spin-off of the widely beloved 2008 series The Little Nyonya 小娘惹. Set against the backdrop of a wealthy Peranakan family, the story unfolds around one grand mansion, two gripping murder mysteries, and the intertwined destinies of three “Little Nyonyas”.
