In conjunction with Singapore’s Bicentennial celebrations, 13-episode SG Explorers (全民出来走一走) is set to premiere on Channel 8 from 1 April. Taking pride of place within Channel 8’s second best-performing timebelt (8pm – 9pm) with average ratings of 6.9%, this fascinating variety show will bring Singaporeans on a learning journey through our nation’s history and heritage, with a rare peek into some of the more fascinating locations that are not usually accessible to members of the public.
Each episode is hosted by two celebrity guides who will lead 20 privileged participants to some restricted-access locations on our island, where they will be encouraged to document their experience in photos. In the final episode, all the photos taken on the trips will be curated into a public exhibition with 12 of the best photos made into a calendar and proceeds donated to Mediacorp’s adopted charities.
