Celebrating Singapore’s Favourite Ads

Celebrating great work by local creative and media agencies, winners of The Laurels 2017 were announced on 14 July 2017 at a ceremony held at Resorts World Sentosa attended by a strong turnout of guests comprising advertisers, creative agencies, and media.

For the public voting awards, winners were determined entirely by votes from the public:  

The Ministry of Education’s television commercial, Why? was Singapore’s “Favourite TV Ad”, beating 6 other finalists. The TVC was the brainchild of DDB Group Singapore, with support from Maxus Singapore, the media agency.

The winner for “Favourite Digital Campaign”, a new category this year, went to Singtel’s Travel Bravely. Created by Mediacorp and supported by media agency Havas Media, the campaign also clinched “The Best Transmedia Campaign” award, for a double win!

Chalking up the highest number of votes for “Favourite Radio Ad”, “Favourite Print Ad” and “Favourite OOH Campaign” were IKEA’s Everything you need for CNY, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore’s Fly your drone safely and Singapore Airlines #singaporeairmoments respectively.

For the Professional Award categories, winners were determined by a distinguished panel of creative industry leaders:

The biggest winner of the night, Tiger Beer’s Uncage Street Food, created by BBDO Singapore and supported by media agency Starcom Media Worldwide, took home both the “Best Homegrown Award” and the “Best of Show Award”.
