Singapore, 12 March 2018 — The Laurels 2018, the only People’s Choice creative award in Singapore, is back again to celebrate the best of local commercials as well as the talents behind them.
Organised by Mediacorp, The Laurels is an annual search for Singapore’s favourite commercials, with the aim of supporting the advertising industry by honouring the works and contributions of advertisers, media and creative agencies. It features two categories of awards – The Public Voting Awards (Your Favourite Ads for TV, Radio and Digital), and Professional Awards (Best Transmedia Campaign, Best Homegrown Award, Best of Show).
A panel comprising creative and marketing veterans led by Jury President, Chris Chiu, Chief Creative Officer, DDB Group Singapore, will shortlist five finalists each for the Public Voting Awards for Singapore audiences to vote for their favourite on-air and online commercials. The same panel will also determine the winners for the Professional Awards.
Winning advertisers and finalists of each of the Awards will win bonus media credits with Mediacorp, while the media agency and creative agency of the Best Homegrown Award and Best of Show will be awarded $5,000 cash each. Voters will also stand to win cash prizes of up to $10,000.
Entry submissions for the Public Voting Awards and the Best Transmedia Campaign are open from now till 13 April 2018. Public voting will commence from 15 June 2018 till 15 July 2018, with the final results announced on-air on 25 August 2018.
