Auditions now open for Season 3 of
The world’s most popular cooking format is back for a third season!
Season 2 attracted hundreds of applicants from all walks of life including a singer, athlete, doctor, teacher, florist, scientist, taxi-driver, puppeteer, fitness coach and architect, with the youngest aged 19 and the oldest, a septuagenarian at 79!
In the end, it was 24-year-old engineering student Derek Cheong who edged out private tutor Leon Lim in the finale to be crowned Singapore’s latest MasterChef winner, following in the footsteps of Season 1 winner Zander Ng.
We are now calling on all talented amateur home cooks in Singapore with aspirations to emulate the likes of Zander, Derek and Leon to audition for a brand new season of MasterChef Singapore!
Regardless of your cooking style or background, we want to hear from you! Simply cook your favourite dish, record a 30s introductory video of yourself and complete the online form before 13 October 2021 to stand a chance to fulfill your culinary dreams and possibly become Singapore’s next MasterChef.
We definitely want to hear from you! But first, be sure that you meet the following requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older on 13th October 2021.
- Must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the Singapore.
- You have never worked as a professional chef.
- Your current main source of income cannot come from preparing and/or cooking fresh food in a professional environment (restaurant, hotels, canteens, catering etc).

Get cooking! Cook as often as you can and extend your repertoire by using unfamiliar ingredients and experimenting with new techniques. Cook against the clock or come up with your own mystery box challenges to test your creativity. Practice your presentation skills and make sure you have some dishes up your sleeve to cover the most common Asian and international Cuisines, plus be able to adapt your dishes to different core ingredients.
Registration for auditions closes on 11:59pm SGT on 13 October 2021. Any entries received after this will not be considered.
The casting crew will inform you via phone or email if you are selected to progress to the next stage. Due to the expected overwhelming response from casting calls, we regret that only shortlisted cooks will be notified.
If you are selected from the initial entries and called to the first round of audition, we will ask you to prepare a dish that best showcases your cooking abilities. The team will brief you fully in advance so you have enough time to prepare!
If you are selected to be in the show, you must be available for filming for two days during the week of 25th October, another 2 days within the following fortnight, and then for up to 18 days to be scheduled within the period of 15th November to 9th December 2021.
Filming will adhere to the latest COVID-19 safety measures as recommended by the authorities.
