Mediacorp announces dedicated programmes and digital initiatives to bring Rio 2016 Olympic Games to Singapore audiences

Singapore, 22 July 2016 - Mediacorp brings the best of Rio 2016 Olympic Games to Singapore audiences with its free coverage on multiple platforms including digital, television, radio and print.

Mediacorp will present a raft of dedicated programmes and digital initiatives providing free coverage of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on multiple platforms. This includes sporting highlights, delayed telecast of up to 12 hours of games coverage daily and up-to-the-minute news coverage of Team Singapore’s participation in the Games.

Between 7 and 21 August 2016, Mediacorp will broadcast daily highlights and telecast of the Games (delayed) on okto, its designated channel for sports content, and Toggle, its over-the-top service platform. Of the three daily highlights shows, two will showcase highlights of the games in general while the third is a half-hour programme produced by Mediacorp with a special focus on Team Singapore athletes in Rio. The daily coverage of the Games will include Team Singapore’s events. All daily highlights are available for catch-up on Toggle.

In addition, Mediacorp will telecast live from Rio the opening and closing ceremonies on 6 August and 22 August respectively (Singapore time).

In the run-up to the Olympic Games, a special documentary series, ‘Countdown to Rio’, will be aired on okto, which focuses primarily on Team Singapore athletes competing in the Rio 2016 Olympic Summer Games.
