Catch Singapore’s National Day programmes on Mediacorp

Singapore, 3 August 2018 – This 53rd National Day, catch the National Day Message and National Day Parade which will be broadcast live on Mediacorp platforms to a worldwide audience.

1.      National Day Message

The National Day Message will be broadcast on 8 August 2018 across Mediacorp’s free-to-air TV channels and radio stations in the four official languages, and streamed on Toggle. The broadcasts will be subtitled in the language of the channel.

The National Day Message will be delivered in the four official languages by:

1.      Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong (English);

2.      Minister for Trade & Industry Mr Chan Chun Sing (Mandarin);

3.      Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Minister in charge of Muslim Affairs Mr Masagos Zulkifli (Malay); and

4.      Minister for Communications & Information Mr S Iswaran (Tamil).

The video clips of the National Day Message in the four languages will also be available on Toggle (Toggle.sg/NDP2018) after the first television broadcast.

 2. National Day Parade

Mediacorp will broadcast the National Day Parade (NDP) live on 9 August 2018 from 5.35pm to 8.25pm on TV, radio and live-streamed on channelnewsasia.com and Toggle (www.toggle.sg/NDP2018).

For the deaf, there will be closed captions on Channel 5 (HD). For Toggle viewers, the live captions can be enabled or disabled through “Settings” on Toggle’s video player.

Singaporeans who are outdoors can also catch the NDP broadcast live at nine outdoor screens. Managed by Mediacorp OOH Media, these giant screens are located at Chinatown Point, Bugis Street, Orchard Towers, JCube, Junction 8, The Star Vista, orchardgateway, iFly@Sentosa and Westgate.

This year’s National Day Rally will be held on Sunday, 19 August 2018 at the Institute of Technical Education in Ang Mo Kio. Telecast details on Mediacorp television channels, radio stations and Toggle will be announced in due course.
