Channel NewsAsia and MediaCorp radio websites are netizens' favourite

Singapore, 26 August 2010 - In the Hitwise Top 10 Rankings for the first half of 2010, MediaCorp's Channel NewsAsia website and MediaCorp's radio homepage once again took the number one spot in the 'Entertainment-Television' and 'Entertainment-Radio' categories respectively, and have been doing so for the last five consecutive years since the inception of the award.

In all, 17 MediaCorp websites won awards in the Hitwise Top 10 Ranking which include eight awards in the Entertainment-Radio category and five in Entertainment-Television. The full list are listed below. The Hitwise awards are given out twice a year to the 10 most popular website across 160 categories. The awards are based on popularity according to the market share of user visits to websites in their respective category. This is a strong testament to the popularity of MediaCorp's various products and brands that extend well beyond traditional television, radio and print media, and the sites’ relevance and stickiness amongst online communities of various demographics and psychographics.

The latest pride and joy in MediaCorp's web offering, has also shown outstanding results since its debut in April 2010. Xinmsn is now Singapore’s number 1 video site with 397,000 unique users in July (Comscore), ahead of Razortv and Yahoo Singapore videos. There were more than 1.5 million unique users (Comscore) in July for the portal, making it the number 2 portal in Singapore surpassing the likes of Asiaone and insing. The key highlight for the xinmsn video on demand is Catch-Up TV where fans who missed their favourite TV shows can catch up online anytime, anywhere. Viewers who miss their favorite TV programs now catch it online at for free!
