Singapore, 15 July 2019 – Mark your calendars for 10 and 11 August 2019 and stand up for Singapore during a rousing weekend of patriotic pride with friends and family at the first-ever – and free – Gardens by the Bay & Mediacorp National Day Concert.
Themed “Our SG, Our Celebration”, this collaboration between Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp aims to bring Singaporeans together to toast our nation’s birthday through a two-day celebratory concert and carnival that emphasise a shared sense of belonging.
The celebratory activities will be held at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay from 4pm on both days over the National Day weekend. Expect an exhilarating plethora of performances headlined by “Home” chanteuse Kit Chan and singer-songwriter Dick Lee, with hosting duties sorted by DJs Jean Danker, Kun Hua, Farhana M Noor and Eswari Gunasagar. Stepping onto the national stage will also be up-and-coming Singaporean singer-songwriter Jasmine Sokko.
The jubilant and jam-packed concert has been curated to appeal to an array of audiences, with more than 25 participating personalities ranging from rising newcomers to respected veterans. The programme for 10 August will be anchored by beloved icons of Singaporean pop the likes of Kit Chan, Dick Lee and Rahimah Rahim, and also features a multi-cultural medley of performances by winners gleaned from Mediacorp’s music reality shows in multi-languages – think SPOP Sing! 2018 winner Jarrell Huang; Vasantham Star winners Nandhitha Gurunath and Swathi Suresh; GeTai Challenge winner Desmond Ng; plus special appearances by Star Search 2019 contestants on 10 August 2019.
Meanwhile, the electrifying line-up for 11 August promises to be a stalwart showcase of next-generation performers such as the aforementioned Jasmine Sokko, as well as South Korea-based and Singapore-born singer Gen Neo; Mandopop band AL4HA; and powerhouse vocalist Aisyah Aziz (refer to Annex 1 for the full list of performers).

Main performances from 6.30pm aside, there will be family-friendly fringe activities from 4pm. Revelers at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay can also catch live broadcasts by radio DJs from GOLD 905, CLASS 95 and 987 at the mobile Mediacorp broadcasting booth, as well as meet SPOP Sing! 2018 contestants and the cast of hit Mediacorp shows like Fried Rice Paradise – The Drama Series and KIN within the same vicinity.
Finally, refuel and recharge by sampling scrumptious bites and beverages on sale at the food trucks dotted around The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay (refer to Annex 2 for the full list of fringe activities and F&B options).

10 August 2019, 4pm to 6.30pm: CLASS 95 and GOLD 905 will be broadcasting live from the mobile Mediacorp booth. Revelers can look forward to fan engagement and contest giveaways by DJs from CAPITAL 958, Warna 942, CNA938, LOVE 972, GOLD 905 and Oli 968. The DJs will also be hosting public meet-and-greet sessions with selected cast members and contestants from Mediacorp dramas and reality competitions such as the upcoming English drama 128 Circle, Fried Rice Paradise - The Drama Series and Star Search 2019.
11 August 2019, 4pm to 6.30pm: 987 will be broadcasting live from the mobile Mediacorp booth. Expect fan engagement and contest giveaways by DJs from 987, CLASS 95, YES 933 and Ria 897. 10 and 11 August 2019, from 4pm: Visitors to this zone will be invited to download the Toggle or MeRadio app. To sweeten the deal, the first 1,000 will cop complimentary ice-cream to beat the heat while juicing up their mobile devices at the free charging stations located within the zone.
10 and 11 August 2019, from 4pm: Tents erected around The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay will hold family-friendly activities, including Instagrammable temporary tattoo, face-painting, balloon sculpting and sand-art workshops, plus an instant photo booth to capture memories with your loved ones. The young and young-at-heart can also entertain themselves in an enormous 20-metre-long inflatable playground courtesy of SAFRA.
10 & 11 August 2019, from 5pm to 6pm: Catch a special screening of Fried Rice Paradise - The Drama Series at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay.
Food and beverages
10 and 11 August 2019, from 4pm: Concert-goers can line their tummies with snacks and drinks from food trucks and pop-up booths stationed around The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay. These pit-stops will be manned by cafe joints like Good Burgers, Coffee Bandits, The Halal Food Truck, Sofnade and Coolman Drink Fresh, among others.
