MediaCorp appoints new head for its publishing business

Singapore, 29 May 2008 - MediaCorp has announced the appointment of seasoned industry player, Ms Zita Ong, as the Managing Director of its publishing business.

Ms Ong, who joins MediaCorp on 16 June 2008, brings with her more than 15 years of publishing experience. Prior to MediaCorp, Ms Ong was the Regional Sales & Marketing Director, Asia for ACP Magazines. During her tenure, she was instrumental in the successful launches of several leading magazines in Asia and was responsible for growing advertising revenue consistently year on year.

Says Ms Ong, "I am delighted to be appointed as Managing Director of Mediacorp Publishing. This is an exciting time in media and I look forward to combining my magazine publishing experience with the multi media platforms of MediaCorp. We are placed in a unique position to leverage on the group’s diverse media assets, taking the publishing operations beyond print.”

MediaCorp's publishing operations, dating back 28 years, span a clutch of 16 magazines, among them Singapore's top selling weeklies (8 Days and I - weekly).
