MediaCorp bags three at Asian Rainbow TV Awards
Singapore, 24 March 2011 – MediaCorp bagged three awards at the inaugural Asia Rainbow TV Awards organized by HK Televisioners Association and China TV Production Committee, held in Hong Kong on 22 March 2011.
Channel 8 programme Life Transformers 2 claimed the award for Best Infotainment against competitors such as Perfect Match by Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (China) and World Cafe Middle East- Istanbul by Discovery Networks Asia Pacific while local gameshow Gatekeepers triumphed international competitor Asian Million Star by ATV (Hong Kong), winning the nomination for the Best Game & Quiz Show.
Popular artiste Quan Yifeng beat renowned Hong Kong hosts Bowie Tsang of ATV and Dong Qing of CCTV (China) for the Best Programme Host (Female) through her emotive performance in Life Transformers 2.
Lim Puay Keem, Vice President, Chinese Entertainment Production says, “winning three awards has put us among the top winners of this competition. Channel 5 police drama Point of Entry also received a nomination in the Best Action Drama category.
The Asia Rainbow Television Award recognises outstanding television productions in Asia. The awards received over 150 entries from 13 countries.
