MediaCorp brings extensive free coverage of the best of London 2012 Olympic Games

- 101 days countdown to the Opening Ceremony: Ignite the Olympics Spirit with Team Singapore

Singapore, 17 April 2012 – MediaCorp kick-starts the 101-day countdown to the London 2012 Olympic Games today, with extensive free coverage on its multiple platforms including television, radio, newspaper and magazines.

Appointed as the Official Free-to-Air Broadcaster for London 2012 Olympic Games, MediaCorp will broadcast Singapore's favourite Olympic events and highlights from 27 July to 12 August over its 8 TV channels. With at least 21 hours of daily coverage over Channel 5 and HD 5, viewers will get to enjoy the best of Olympic sporting events specially tailored for Singapore audiences as well as the most comprehensive coverage of Team Singapore’s performances at the Olympic Games. Channel U and okto will complement Channel 5 with at least 6 hours of daily sporting coverage. Channel NewsAsia, Channel 8, Suria and Vasantham will also carry Olympics reports in their news bulletins and breakfast shows.

Dedicated daily pages to the Olympic Games in TODAY newspaper will also keep readers in touch with the pulse of the Games with a special focus on Team Singapore.

Radio listeners across MediaCorp’s 13 radio stations will get to receive Olympic Games updates. Team Singapore athletes will be interviewed on 938LIVE’s SportsZone. Daily match previews, reviews and match tallies will also be aired on the other stations.

In addition to our comprehensive coverage across multiple platforms, Singaporeans can show their support for Team Singapore through a series of ground events leading up to the Olympic Games with MediaCorp celebrities from television and radio. Details will be furnished at a later date.
