MediaCorp celebrates World Environment Day with Saving Gaia
Singapore, 5 June 2013 – Fresh from winning BCA’s Green Mark Platinum award, the highest rating for green building certification in Singapore, MediaCorp’s annual Saving Gaia initiative returns today to coincide with World Environment Day, renewing the company’s commitment to raise public awareness of environmental issues and going green.
The logos and mastheads of MediaCorp’s key platforms will adopt a green hue for 24 hours on that day, the symbolic colour for the environment. The temporary colour change will be reflected in MediaCorp’s popular television channel logos (Channel 5, 8, U, Suria, okto, Vasantham and Channel NewsAsia); logos on websites (mediacorp.sg, channelnewsasia.com, TODAYonline); and the mastheads for TODAY,8 DAYS and i-Weekly.
This year’s advertising campaign reprises the tagline of ‘Save my World’ to appeal to everyone to help build a better and greener world together. Following the success of last year’s music video which garnered more than 800,000 views on social media, this year’s music video promises a fresh take featuring the young cast of popular local film Ah Boys to Men, with a remixed arrangement and rap specially written by breakout star Tosh Zhang (aka Tosh Rock).
