MediaCorp forms Interactive Media Business

Singapore, 2 January 2009
- MediaCorp, which operates some of the most popular and acclaimed websites in Singapore, has consolidated its various online and mobile properties under one division with effect from 2 January 2009.

The new division - Interactive Media Division (IMD) - will sharpen MediaCorp’s efforts in the new media space, capitalizing on growing interest among users and advertisers. Harnessing the online and mobile resources of television, radio, print, news and technologies divisions, the IMD will spearhead and grow the new media businesses across the MediaCorp group.

The IMD will run as a separate business from the current two business clusters – television and news/radio/print.

Shaun Seow, MediaCorp Deputy CEO (News, Radio, Print) will oversee this new division, in addition to his responsibilities at the news/radio/print cluster.

Assisting Shaun in this new division is Mr Steven Chan, who joins MediaCorp from 2 January 2009 as the division’s Senior Vice President. Steven brings with him over 20 years of experience mostly in the telecommunication industry. For the last nine years, he made significant contributions to the development and growth of the mobile industry in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining MediaCorp, he was an Executive Director at Asia Mobility Initiative (AMI) Alliance.
