MediaCorp galvanizes its platforms to raise funds for South Tropical Storm and earthquake victims
Singapore, 12 October 2009 – To help victims of the recent disasters inflicted by the south tropical storms and earthquake in the region, MediaCorp is leveraging on its multi-media platforms to encourage Singaporeans to donate to Project Hope, a humanitarian charity special produced by MediaCorp and telecast ‘live’ on Monday, 19 October 2009 from 8.30 to 10.30pm over Channel 5, Suria, TVMobile and the outdoor screens at Orchard Central. Over 100 MediaCorp, local and ASEAN artistes will participate in Project Hope - which will be the first TV charity show to benefit the victims of the affected populations in ASEAN. All donations will be channelled to Singapore Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and Mercy Relief which have launched public appeals for survivors of Typhoon Ketsana in Indochina and the Padang earthquake in Indonesia. MediaCorp will underwrite the full cost of production.

*Administrative fee of $0.21 (inclusive of GST) chargeable for each call
For individuals and corporations who wish to donate above $50, they can call in during the live show on a special number which will be manned by television and radio personalities.

Project Hope will be telecast ‘live’ on Monday, 19 October 2009 from 8.30 to 10.30pm over Channel 5, Suria, TVMobile and the outdoor screens at Orchard Central. The encore telecast will be on Sunday 25 October 2009 on Suria from 11am to 1pm, and on Channel 5 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
