MediaCorp wins three World Medals at New York Festivals 2011
Singapore, 13 April 2011 – MediaCorp won 2 Silver World Medals, 1 Bronze World Medal and 10 Finalist Certificates at the 2011 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards. The winning entries are programmes that were produced for and telecast on Channel NewsAsia, Channel 5, okto and a documentary produced for the international market by Caldecott Productions International (CPI). The New York Festivals was established 54 years ago and its TV & Film Awards recognise the ‘World’s Best Work’ in news, sports, documentary, information and entertainment programme as well as in music videos, infomercials, promotion spots and others. Entries were received from over 35 different countries making the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards one of the most well-known and widely respected competitions in the world. This year’s competitors included international networks such as BBC Worldwide, ESPN, CNN, as well as Asian broadcasters such as NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), Radio Television Hong Kong, ABS-CNB (Philippines), Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Media Prima (Malaysia).
