National Day Rally 2017 speech to be broadcast ‘live’ for Singapore and worldwide audiences

Singapore, 14 August 2017 – Mediacorp will broadcast Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s National Day Rally 2017 speech ‘live’ on Sunday, 20 August 2017 on TV, radio and online for Singapore and worldwide audiences on Mediacorp’s multi-lingual OTT service Toggle and Channel NewsAsia.

There will be two parts to the speech:

Part 1:   6.45pm to 7.30pm – PM Lee will deliver his speech first in Malay, then in Mandarin.

Part 2:   8.15pm to 9.30pm – PM Lee will deliver his speech in English.

Sign language will be provided at the Prime Minister’s Office website: www.pmo.gov.sg/ndr.

PM Lee’s speech will be voiced-over during the speeches when it is different from the language of the channel and station. On Vasantham and Oli 96.8FM, the broadcast will be completely voiced-over in Tamil.

The online community in Singapore and around the world will be able to watch the simulcast of the Rally ‘live’ on toggle.sg or via the Toggle app from 6.45pm or on channelnewsasia.com/nd2017 from 8.15pm. Viewers who miss the ‘live’ broadcast may visit Channel NewsAsia website or toggle.sg for catch-up and video on demand clips.
