Singapore, 30 September 2010 – Come October 17, Sunday, a bevy of stars will light up the stage for the annual President’s Star Charity 2010 (PSC). Hosted by Soo Kui Jien and Michelle Chia, the President’s Star Charity 2010 will be a night of spectacular lights, music, dance and acrobatic display, in high definition glory for the first time. Taking on this year’s President’s Challenge theme of "Spare A Moment To Care", the 2 1/2 hour live show will feature a stellar cast including Hong Kong artiste Karen Mok, the Shaolin Monks of Samsara - The Shaolin Legacy fame, and MediaCorp artistes Gurmit Singh, Tay Ping Hui, Sezairi Sezali and Vasantham Star Viknesh among others (full list of performers in Annex 2).

For acrobatics at its best Alexey Goloborodko of Resorts World Singapore’s Voyage de la Vie will literally bend over backwards for charity, while the Shaolin Monks put up a kung-fu item that’s guaranteed to give heart-stopping moments to its audiences.
Closer to home, the Top 8 contenders of Channel 5’s One Moment of Glory will take time out from competition to do their bid for charity, while percussion group Bloco Singapura, nine year-old drummer Zidann and beatboxer Charles “Stitch” Wong (of Singapore Idol 3 fame) engage in a three-way “rhythm and beat” sparring session. The show also features performances by two beneficiaries of the President’s Challenge – Adelyn Koh from the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped and Christopher Sng from the Red Cross Home for the Disabled.
HE President S R Nathan says, “I have been heartened by Singaporeans’ selfless generosity towards the President’s Challenge. The President’s Star Charity is a good example. Every year without fail, everyone does their part – be it the producers, the performers, the viewers, all working together to create a better tomorrow for the beneficiaries of President’s Challenge. It is my hope that Singaporeans will continue to generously support this year’s President’s Star Charity, which is the annual highlight of the President’s Challenge.”
Mr Lucas Chow, MediaCorp CEO says: “This is the 17th consecutive year MediaCorp is producing the President’s Star Charity show. It is an honour to be part of the President’s Challenge and to be able to do our part to help the less fortunate in our society. Every year, we hear of stories of beneficiaries who have seemingly been given the bad end of the stick. But through their sheer tenacity and courage, their stories have been an inspiration to us all. I am very happy that through the PSC show, viewers at home can witness and bear testimony to these brave souls and courageous acts so please do your part and give to a very worthy cause.”
