Record viewership for MediaCorp's productions of National Day Parade 2015 and National Day Rally 2015

Singapore, 25 August 2015 – Befitting the nation’s SG50 celebrations, MediaCorp received record viewership for its telecast of the National Day Parade on 9 August 2015 and the National Day Rally on 23 August 2015 across its seven television channels and on its over-the-top video service Toggle.

National Day Parade

MediaCorp's live coverage of the National Day Parade on 9 August 2015 across its six television channels – Channel 5, Channel 8, Suria, Vasantham, Channel U and okto – reached more than 2.22 million viewers (P4+) or about four in 10 Singapore's total P4+ viewers.  This is a 22% increase over 2014 viewership and is the second highest viewership recorded since 2001.  As at 24 August 2015, MediaCorp’s over-the-top video service, Toggle registered 371,708 streams based on a combination of live and catch-up views.

Besides TV, people in Singapore also followed the live proceedings on the airwaves across the four language radio stations – 938LIVE (English), Capital 95.8FM (Mandarin), Warna 94.2FM (Malay) and Oli 96.8FM (Tamil), as well as on MediaCorp’s out-of-home screens across the island and on live twitter coverage on https://twitter.com/mediacorp.  

National Day Rally

A record 1.62 million (P15+) viewers tuned in to MediaCorp’s live coverage of National Day Rally 2015 across its seven television channels.  This is a 20% increase over last year’s viewership and is the highest since 2001.  The rally was also streamed live on Toggle and channelnewsasia.com, garnering a total of 22,500 live streams.
