Vote for your favourite SG50 t-shirt
Singapore, 26 November 2014 – MediaCorp launched the 'Design-A-Tee' contest earlier this month and the three-week call for design submission received an overwhelming response of some 1,600 entries - from kids below 10 to senior citizens in their 60s.
The judging panel from MediaCorp, Denizen and SG50 shortlisted 20 designs based on the following criteria: 'Singaporeaness', creativity and aesthetic. The public can now view the shortlisted designs at www.sg50designatee.com and vote for their favourite one. The votes from the public and the judges’ scores each make up 50 per cent of the overall score. The top 5 entries will make up the winning designs.
One of the judges Ms Christina Chua, MediaCorp Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales Planning said: "The panel was clearly impressed with the quality and originality of the designs, and had a tough time shortlisting the entries from the vast numbers received. Not only must the design be visually appealing, it must also be able to tell a compelling story about Singapore. And since the humble t-shirt is our unofficial national costume, the winning design must be something that Singaporeans are proud to wear. The 20 top designs reflect the eclectic and diverse thoughts of Singaporeans and capture the essence of the designers’ love for the country.”
The winning designs will be officially unveiled by MediaCorp artistes at the Celebrate SG50 Countdown show on 31 December 2014 at Marina Bay Floating Platform.
The winning designers and their designs will also be featured on MediaCorp’s TV, radio, newspaper and online platforms. The tee-shirts will be available for sale at all Denizen outlets in the new year. Look out for details for a special SG50 tee-shirt autograph signing session with MediaCorp's 8 Dukes at a Denizen store in 2015.
