Twenty-three MediaCorp websites amongst Singaporeans' favourites in 2008

Singapore, 28 April 2009 – Twenty-three MediaCorp websites have been awarded as Singapore’s top 10 most popular websites in their respective Hitwise categories in 2008. At the latest annual Hitwise Online Performance Awards based on market share of visits, the websites of MediaCorp Radio and Channel NewsAsia have also emerged as the top websites in their respective categories for four consecutive years since the inception of the award.

This is a strong testament to the popularity of MediaCorp’s various products and brands that extend well beyond traditional television, radio and print media.

The annual Hitwise Online Performance Awards acknowledge excellence in online performance, by recognising the most visited websites in Singapore, across a range of industries. Results of the Awards are based on the Internet usage of around 1.5 million Singaporeans visiting over 9,700 Singaporean websites throughout 2008. As Hitwise gathers Internet usage data directly from ISPs, the websites featured in the Award programme need not apply to win.
