Mr Shaun Seow, CEO, MediaCorp says, "Good journalism, which empowers people to make better decisions, provides the backbone for any media company serious about its brand. Whether MediaCorp retains its edge in this current business climate depends very much on the content we deliver to our audiences. I'm happy to note that this year's winners of the News Awards are testament to good, meaningful journalism we believe in. The work they've done have got much of Singapore talking last year - such as the train fare anomalies using the distance-based fares system.

The annual News Awards provides the platform to celebrate the best in journalism across MediaCorp's TV, radio, print and interactive media. I am delighted that the awards have continued to spur our journalists to excel. Congratulations to all the winners."

A panel of local and foreign judges selected the winning entries which were broadcast or published in 2010. Please see Annex 1 for the panel of judges. The full winners' credit list can be found in Annex 2.
