Huang Shu Jun
Shu Jun joined Mediacorp in 2002 as a broadcast journalist after graduating from Taiwan’s Tung Hai University with a degree in Chinese Studies. Shortly after, she became a producer presenter with Radio Singapore International in 2003, which she spent 5 years of her radio career there.
In 2007, she went on a three weeks assignment in the US working on a radio series on the understanding of the 2008 U.S. Presidential election. It was a collaboration between Radio Singapore International and the U.S. Embassy in Singapore for a series of radio programmes recorded on location in the United States.
Shu Jun is versatile and experienced in producing both current affairs and lifestyle programmes. She has produced capsules on current affairs, inviting ministers and Members of Parliament on air to discuss local issues regarding the Pioneer Generation, CPF, healthcare and housing. She also produces lifestyle programmes such as the popular “Kid’s talk” “Positive Energy”.
In addition to being a producer presenter, Shu Jun is a sought-after voice-over talent and on-site host and has experience hosting road shows. She has also hosted a variety of events at festive occasions which includes the Lo Hei during Chinese New Year at the Istana, Lantern Festival and the Queenstown 61st Anniversary Celebration. She interacts well with children, delighting and engaging them with her stories. She has also hosted children’s storytelling competition organised by the Speak Mandarin campaign.
