360 Entertainment Productions Crowned Content Creator of the Year at Mediacorp’s The Pinwheels

The Singapore-based production company also took home the Content of the Year award at this evening’s awards ceremony

Singapore, 11 February 2022 - And the winner of the first ever The Pinwheels Content Creator of the Year Award goes to... 360 Entertainment Productions! The local production house edged out stiff competition to bad the coveted title as well as a $10,000 cash prize for the Content Creator of the Year award category, dedicated to the content creator who had made an impact in the local YouTube scene over the last two years.

360 Entertainment Productions also came out tops in the Content of the Year category for its submission of Naam – Adi Penne (Duet) Official Video [4K] from the massively popular Tamil drama series on Mediacorp Vasantham. The video has racked up a staggering 160 million views on YouTube to date. 

Organised by Mediacorp with support from YouTube and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), and sponsored by Singtel, The Pinwheels celebrates excellence in digital content creation and underlines Mediacorp’s commitment to fostering local talent and growing the content creator ecosystem in Singapore. The awards presentation ceremony was held at The Vault at InterContinental Singapore and was livestreamed over meWATCH and Mediacorp Entertainment’s YouTube channel. 

Other hotly anticipated categories during the evening included Most Popular Video, which went to UXM for its spine-chilling paranormal video CERITA HANTU EP1: Delivery Rider Dikejar POCONG!!, while the honour of Best Newcomer went to fishing enthusiast mqfish for his video FISHING IN PULAU UBIN FOR WILD BARRAMUNDI.

The Pinwheels were open to Singaporean content creators – both experienced and aspiring ones – whose videos were produced in Singapore for the local market and uploaded on YouTube between 1 November 2020 and 30 October 2021. More than 300 entries were received since the awards were launched in November 2021. 

The majority of award categories were fully assessed by a panel of industry professionals who judged entries for their theoretical and practical strengths, while two categories – Most Popular Video and Content of the Year – were evaluated from a combination of judges’ scoring (50%) and public votes (50%).
