Backstage brilliance takes centre stage: Mediacorp unveils nominees for inaugural Mediacorp Screen Awards 2025
Singapore, 14 August 2025 – The stage is set to take Singapore’s unseen storytellers in the spotlight as Mediacorp lifts the curtain on the nominees for its inaugural Mediacorp Screen Awards 2025 (MSA2025). From directors and writers to editors and cinematographers, the shortlist recognises outstanding behind-the-scenes talent from the Chinese, Malay, and Indian production communities, whose creativity, artistry and technical excellence have played a vital role in bringing the nation’s stories to life.
Set to take place on 29 August at Pan Pacific Orchard, this closed-door industry event will feature the presentation of 21 distinguished awards across the following seven categories for each of the Chinese, Malay and Indian production communities:
- Best Direction (Drama)
- Best Direction (Entertainment)
- Best Cinematography (Drama)
- Best Screenplay (Drama)
- Best Research Writing (Entertainment)
- Best Editing (Drama)
- Best Editing (Entertainment)

The exclusive gathering of industry peers will be helmed by award-winning host and comedienne Irene Ang, veteran funnymen Suhaimi Yusof and Vadi Pvss, and effervescent Mediacorp CLASS 95 personality Jean Danker, a quartet primed to keep the energy high from start to finish. Between trophy lifts, guests can expect electrifying live acts by local talents Shabir Sulthan, Hady Mirza and Tasha Low, rounding out a night that honours Singapore’s finest creative talent.
