A bigger, bolder and brighter celebration of local Indian entertainment at Pradhana Vizha 2022

Mediacorp’s annual awards show Pradhana Vizha will take place in two parts over two days for the first time in history on 23 November and 10 December! Into its 18th edition, the awards ceremony – aptly themed Big, Bold and Bright - will honour the best talents and content of local Indian entertainment across 41 award categories.

Singapore, 21 November 2022 – Mediacorp’s annual awards show Pradhana Vizha will take place in two parts over two days for the first time in history on 23 November and 10 December! Into its 18th edition, the awards ceremony – aptly themed Big, Bold and Bright - will honour the best talents and content of local Indian entertainment across 41 award categories.

Hosted by Mediacorp’s Oli968 DJ Haleema Asman, Karthikeyan Somasundaram and Thavanesan Sivananthan, Pradhana Vizha Part One will present 20 out of the 41 awards. This will include the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be conferred on a respected individual who has made notable contributions to the local Indian entertainment industry. The next 21 awards will be presented at Pradhana Vizha Part Two, which will be hosted by Mediacorp’s Oli968 DJ Gunalan Morgan, Jaynesh Isuran, Magalakshmi Sudarsanan and Shamini Gunasagar. In Part Two, viewers can look forward to the results of the highly anticipated Most Popular Male and Female Personality awards. Nominees will be announced during the Part One show, and voting starts from 23 November, 9.30pm till 10 December, 10.30pm. Fans can vote for their favourite celebrities at mediacorp.sg/pradhanavizha.

The number of awards presented this year features a significant increase from previous years’ shows as part of Mediacorp’s continuous efforts to recognise both offscreen and onscreen talents, as well as the innovative content across the local media industry. The new awards include the Best Editing (Unscripted) and Best Editing (Scripted) categories to acknowledge the exceptional creativity of behind-the-scenes talents. In recognition of the latest forms of content in recent years, the awards show will also include new categories, such as Best Single Episode/Telemovie/Anthology Episode, Best Digital Short-Form Series and Best Limited Drama Series.

Among the nominees vying for the coveted awards, dramas Parambarai and Amartyan lead with nine nominations in categories, such as Best Editing (Scripted), Best Scripting (Scripted) and Best Original Screenplay. Other Pradhana Vizha 2022 nominees with multiple nominations include Naam S1 with eight nominations, as well as Vettai S5 with seven nominations.
