Celebrating the brilliance of local Indian entertainment at Pradhana Vizha 2024
Get ready for the 19th edition of Pradhana Vizha on 24 February! Themed "Starry Night", this event will honour creative and artistic excellence across 26 award categories, celebrating the best of local Indian entertainment.
Singapore, 9 February 2024 – The stage is set for the biggest celebration of local Indian entertainment with the 19th edition of Pradhana Vizha happening on 24 February! Themed “Starry Night”, this extravaganza will honour creative and artistic excellence across 26 award categories in two parts – the first in an exclusive ceremony dedicated to behind-the-scenes talents, followed by a glitzy affair featuring some of the biggest local Indian celebrities at The Theatre at Mediacorp.
In recognising the achievements of the diverse body of talent and work in the industry, Pradhana Vizha 2024 Part One will present 13 Creative and Programme categories including the “Best Direction (Scripted)”, “Best Direction (Unscripted)”, and the “Best Drama Series” awards. Hosted by the charismatic duo Mediacorp OLI 968 DJs Ravi Guna and Haleema Asman, this will kickstart the festivities, as the popular Red Carpet segment ensues later in the evening to showcase the glitz and glamour of the occasion. In this, audiences will be able to catch their favourite personalities in their finest ensembles, while Mediacorp OLI 968 DJ Gunalan Morgan and local actress Malene entertain with their lively commentaries.
With celebrations reaching a climax, Pradhana Vizha Part Two will dazzle with electrifying performances from a star-studded line-up including veteran artistes Mohamed Raffee and Vicknesvari Vadivalagan as well as Yaar Antha Star 2020 first runner-up Durgashini. Of note is the launch of a new theme song that will serve as a distinctive heartbeat for Pradhana Vizha with its lively tune and positive lyrics, and foster a sense of shared celebration with all. Titled “Velicham Paravum Ulangengum”, the track is composed by Shabir Music Asia and will be performed by local musical maestros Suthasini, Vishnu Balaji, Subashini, and Vasantham Star 2023 winner Navein Gunasekar at the event.
Part Two will be hosted by the charming Karthikeyan Somasundram and Jay Nesh Isuran, together with renowned entertainment presenter Priyanka Deshpande. The show will focus on Performance and Personality awards including the highly anticipated “Most Popular Male Personality” and “Most Popular Female Personality” awards, and fans can take this opportunity to show their support for their celebrities by voting via mediacorp.sg/pradhanavizha from 10 February at 12.00am till 24 February at 10.00pm.
Other key awards will feature the “Lifetime Achievement” award, bestowed upon an individual for their monumental contributions to the local Indian entertainment industry, as well as others like the “Best Actor”, “Best Actress”, “Best Host” and “Best Radio Jockey” awards.
