CNA is now available to more than 180 million homes and connected devices worldwide following strategic expansion into Europe

Singapore, 9 March 2026 – Powered by strategic partnerships with leading television and technology providers across Europe and North America, CNA has successfully doubled its global footprint to more than 180 million homes and connected devices worldwide from two years ago, when it first began the rollout of its Free-Ad Supported Television (FAST) channel – now known as CNA Originals – into the Western hemisphere.

This strategic expansion allows viewers across Europe including Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the Nordics, the United Kingdom, as well as the United States and Canada, to watch award-winning CNA Originals content on a variety of platforms and channels including Airtime, Amasian, Bolt+, Distro TV, Freeview, Rakuten TV, Serially, VIDAA, and Whale TV+.

CNA Originals features a curated slate of premium long-form documentaries and current affairs programmes as well as two flagship news bulletins – Asia Tonight and East Asia Tonight – offering global audiences deeper insights into Asia’s political, economic, and social transformations.

Following launches in Washington DC and London over the past two years, this latest milestone was marked by a two-day event in Berlin, Germany, featuring programming available on CNA Originals.

An exclusive, by invite-only showcase held on 6 March was attended by about 250 members of the diplomatic corps, policy makers, academia, and business leaders. Hosted by CNA Presenter Otelli Edwards, guests enjoyed screenings and dialogue sessions with CNA correspondents and executive producers who helm the network’s programming:

  • A panel discussion on Asia Tonight and East Asia Tonight, helmed by Senior Correspondent, Lim Yun Suk from the Seoul bureau, and Correspondent Saksith Saiyasombut from the Bangkok bureau;
  • Screenings from award-winning current affairs programme, Insight, presented by Executive Producer Daniel Heng; and
  • A discussion on one of CNA’s latest documentaries, The Nuclear Option, fronted by Senior Producer Shahul Hameed.

This showcase was followed by a public event at the Mall of Berlin on 7 March which attracted close to 3000 Berliners. Visitors enjoyed back-to-back screenings of CNA Originals content, as well as Asian tea sampling, a fan-decorating activity for children, and Asian-themed flash mob dance performances which reflected the region’s vibrant cultural landscape.

Speaking at the event, CNA’s Editor-in-Chief Mr Walter Fernandez said: “We strive to help global audiences ‘Understand Asia’. This requires providing them with more than just data points. It requires depth, context, analysis, nuance, and cultural fluency. This is the strength of CNA in Asia. At a time when major newsrooms around the world are cutting back on their international coverage, CNA continues to invest in correspondents and bureaus. Being Asian and being on the ground, our correspondents can deliver reports and analyses which are not only deeper, but which come with an understanding of events which goes beyond what meets the eye.”

Headquartered in Singapore, CNA is the flagship news brand of Singapore’s national media network Mediacorp, and has some 50 correspondents globally – 35 of whom are based in key Asian cities. Since 2013, CNA has won more than 650 international awards for its content and platforms. These honours include top recognitions from the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards, New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, International Emmy Awards and World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) Digital Media Awards. Most recently, CNA was named a Top 10 Brand in Singapore by YouGov, a ranking that mirrors its position as the nation’s most-used online news source according to the Reuters Institute.

Mr Fernandez added: “Amid geo-political volatility, the ability to ‘Understand Asia’ is more important than ever before to decision makers at every level. Whether it is in politics, defence, economics, social issues, or technology – Asia is a significant part of the narrative, and it is critical for decision makers to have access to nuanced reporting about Asia, from within Asia.”
