Dive into the Best of Mandopop with Mediacorp at the YES 933 HITS FEST 2023 (YES 933 潮流音乐盛典 2023)!

Singapore, 16 October 2023 – Music lovers, mark your calendars for a grand celebration of Mandopop’s finest as Mediacorp brings you the inaugural YES 933 HITS FEST 2023 (YES 933 潮流音乐盛典 2023). A seamless blend of award recognitions with live performances, the concert extravaganza will see an electrifying slate of local and regional award winners coming together for a spectacle of musical prowess under the banner of Music In My Stride, Pop Hits Top The Tide (音乐我主宰 潮流新世代) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 25 November.

In recognising the best and brightest talents in the current Mandopop scene, the celebration will honour 20 winners across seven categories:

• Artiste Of The Year 年度歌手 (10 awardees)
• Newcomer Of The Year 年度新人 (1 male awardee, 1 female awardee)
• Hit Of The Year 年度金曲 (1 awardee)
• YES 933 Hitmakers YES 933 潮流新势力 (3 awardees)
• SPOP Media Recommendation SPOP 本地推荐 (2 awardees)
• SPOP Best Local Lyrics SPOP最佳作词 (1 awardee)
• SPOP Best Local Composition SPOP最佳作曲 (1 awardee)

Winners for all awards except the “Hit of the Year” were determined through a mix of professional judging, results on Mediacorp’s Chinese radio station YES 933’s iconic weekly music chart Pick of the Pops (醉心龙虎榜) and airplay measurements[1] between the qualifying period of 3 July 2022 to 25 June 2023.

Meanwhile, fans can vote for their favourite tunes at mediacorp.sg/yes933hitsfest between 23 October and 5 November to crown the “Hit of the Year”. Voting, open to those with a valid meconnect account, is capped at a limit of 10 votes per day per user and will make up 50% of overall assessment, with the remainder made up of 40% professional judging and 10% YES 933 airplay¹.

Leading the celebrations for the evening is a curated line-up of award winners who will deliver dazzling performances at the live show. From luminaries to next-gen trailblazers, they include local and regional artistes WeiBird韋禮安, Lala Hsu 徐佳莹, Accusefive 告五人, Zhang Zhehan 张哲瀚, OSN 高尔宣, Karencici 林恺伦, SHOU 娄峻硕, Boon Hui Lu 文慧如, PoLin 柏霖 and Ivy Lee 艾薇.

Also geared to rock the stage are rising homegrown talents Jarrell Huang 黄俊融, Gao Meigui 高美贵, Soph T. 霏霏, Shelby Wang 王晓敏, Ben Hum 范平庚and xxmxrcs, who will deliver the show’s inaugural theme song, Music In My Stride (音乐我主宰) composed by local producer Jim Lim 林倛玉. Throughout the three-hour concert, fans can expect to be drawn into an evocative journey of timeless classics as well as contemporary hits.

Audiences who are unable to attend the concert in person may also catch the show live via mewatch, the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel and Channel U on 25 November, 7pm to 10pm, with audio snippets streamed over YES 933 and melisten.
