Global stories shine at the 2025 ATF x Mediacorp Co-Production Pitch
The competition drew 75 entries from 21 countries, reinforcing Mediacorp’s commitment to cross-border creative collaboration
Singapore, 4 December 2025 – Following the success of the inaugural edition last year, Mediacorp and the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) today announced the winners of the 2025 ATF x Mediacorp Co-Production Pitch, which continues to spotlight outstanding storytellers and original content ideas from around the world.
Launched in August 2025, this year’s competition drew 75 eligible entries from 21 countries, including regional markets such as India, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia, as well as entries from Australia, Canada, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Uzbekistan.
The strong international participation reflects the industry’s growing interest in co-producing Asian stories with global resonance. It also underscores Mediacorp’s commitment, as Singapore’s national media network and leading content creator, to fostering creative exchange and strengthening Singapore’s position as a regional hub for content collaboration and co-production.
After a rigorous evaluation process, five shortlisted finalists presented their projects in a closed-door live pitching session held today at ATF 2025 at Marina Bay Sands. The session was judged by a panel of renowned industry leaders: Virginia Lim (Chief Content Officer, Mediacorp), Angie Chai (Chairman and CEO, Mission International; creator of Meteor Garden流星花园), Sheena Liu (President, TVBS Media Inc) and Peter Choe (CEO, Blintn, a global B2B content database serving over 1,600 companies in more than 80 countries).
The top two winning projects each received a cash prize of $10,000 and will have the opportunity to be considered for co-production with Mediacorp.
The winning projects are:
-
Blood Pact – Submitted by Japanese production company Toei, this supernatural thriller follows six high school students who unwittingly awaken a deadly curse after offering blood to a mysterious jenglot figurine. Bound to an escalating pack to keep the creature satisfied, the students must confront the consequences of their choices, or be consumed themselves.
-
The Musical Chairs – Submitted by Thailand production company Raccoon Films, this mystery thriller revolves around a series of murders in Bangkok tied to a classical-music radio channel broadcasting 24 hours a day. Each time the music stops, another killing occurs—turning the city into a deadly game of musical chairs as investigators race to predict the next silence.
Virginia Lim, Chief Content Officer, said, “This year’s entries highlight the creativity and ambition of storytellers from diverse backgrounds. We’re seeing strong interest in stories that are elevated through co-productions and creative partnerships. At Mediacorp, we focus on bold, original ideas that push creative boundaries and aim to deliver fresh, engaging content to our audiences.”
