Goh Chok Tong Enable Awards opens nominations to recognise achievements of persons with disabilities
Nominations are now open for the eighth edition of the annual Goh Chok Tong Enable Awards (GCTEA) and will close on 23 June 2026.
Launched in 2019, the Awards are a key initiative of the Goh Chok Tong Enable Fund (GCTEF), a community fund administered by SG Enable and supported by Mediacorp. The Fund supports persons with disabilities in leading socially integrated lives and contributing actively to society through its 3As framework: providing financial Aid, supporting Aspirations, and conferring Awards. As part of its commitment to advancing inclusivity, the GCTEA recognises and celebrates outstanding persons with disabilities for their excellence, achievements and potential.
The Awards comprises of two categories:
- The GCTEA (Achievement) celebrates persons with disabilities who have attained significant accomplishments in their respective fields and serve as an inspiration to others. Each award recipient will receive $10,000. In recognition of the important role played by organisations in supporting the success journeys of persons with disabilities, nominating organisations that are Institutions of a Public Character or government educational institutions will each receive up to $5,000 should their nominee is selected as a winner in this Award category.
- The GCTEA (Promise) encourages persons with disabilities who have shown promise to pursue greater heights in their areas of talent and willingness to serve the community. Each award recipient will receive $5,000.
Nominees for both categories must be persons with disabilities, including those with physical disabilities, sensory disabilities such as visual impairment and deafness or hearing loss, intellectual disabilities, or autism. They must also be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. Nominees for the GCTEA (Achievement) category must be aged 18 and above, while nominees for the GCTEA (Promise) category must be aged 12 and above.
Now in its eighth edition, the Awards have honoured a total of 99 awardees in recognition of their achievements and potential.
Chia Yong Yong, Chairperson of the GCTEA Evaluation Panel and Board Member of SG Enable said: “The Goh Chok Tong Enable Awards shine a spotlight on persons with disabilities who have made or have potential for meaningful contributions in their respective fields and communities. As we open nominations for this year’s Awards, we encourage individuals and organisations to come forward and nominate deserving persons whose journeys can inspire others and reflect the importance of building a more inclusive and resilient society”.
