Delivered in Singapore’s four official languages, the National Day Message will be available across Mediacorp’s digital streaming platform mewatch, free-to-air TV channels and radio stations.
The Message will be delivered by:
- Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in English;
- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong in Chinese;
- Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health & Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Masagos Zulkifli in Malay; and
- Minister for Home Affairs & Minister for Law K Shanmugam in Tamil.
National Day Parade (NDP) 2023

The National Day Parade will see the festivities return to the Padang once again! Themed “Onward As One,” the celebration seeks to inspire Singaporeans to face the future with confidence and unity, and to work together to shape a shared and united destiny. The show, titled “Building Our Shared Future As One”, will celebrate Singaporean diversity and resilience. Highlights include the refreshed Total Defence Parade, an enhanced aerial display to commemorate the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s (RSAF) 55th anniversary, marching contingents from the uniformed services and social-economic groups, as well as a spectacular show that celebrates our feelings of hope, optimism and gratitude. The choir performances and a dance to the NDP 2023 Theme song “Shine Your Light” will also encourage unity and a brighter future for Singaporeans. B. Premiere of new National Day content
Look forward to a star-studded assembly of local talents in the fifth edition of the Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert. For the first time in four years, the concert will return to a full-scale extravaganza at Gardens by the Bay’s largest event venue, The Meadow.
Hosted by all-rounded artiste Vernetta Lopez and Pesta Perdana 2023's “Best-Host - Info-Ed” winner Fauzie Laily, this year’s celebration promises to captivate audiences with a dazzling lineup of beloved homegrown personalities. Well-loved local gem Kit Chan will headline the concert and serenade audiences with the nation’s all-time favourite National Day tune Home, a performance made more meaningful given the 25th anniversary of the song this year. Audiences will also enjoy a multi-cultural performance featuring traditional musical instruments like the erhu, guzheng, kompang and tabla by Mediacorp artistes including Ayden Sng, Fadli Kamsani and Jaynesh Isuran among others. Viewers can also get ready for a sizzling showdown in the fourth season of MasterChef Singapore! For the first time ever, 18 talented home cooks will be divided into three teams of six, each led by one of the three judges: Chefs Audra Morrice, Bjorn Shen and Damian D’Silva. A showdown is brewing – this time, between contestants and judges alike. This latest instalment of the competition will continue to reflect Singapore’s multicultural heritage, showcase diverse dishes and spotlight homegrown ingredients via its weekly surprises and curveballs. Singapore: Viddsee series will spotlight the everyday stories of Singaporeans – fans can look forward to Scene City: Tuition, which follows a 13-year-old boy facing challenges with an aggressive tuition teacher, and Another Day In Paradise, a five-part series exploring the lives of five individuals navigating their emotions in this unique paradise nation.
For insightful infotainment, catch the National Day edition of Detik, a special Malay programme that will take viewers on a thrilling journey through the comeback parade at Padang. The episode will showcase the stories of participants from 1960 to 2023, revealing Singapore’s development and key challenges over the decades. In celebration of Singapore’s 58th year of independence, Mediacorp has prepared a lineup of exciting fan favourites across our multiple platforms. Themed “Singapura Vibes”, the diverse selection will feature documentaries, variety shows, and captivating dramas celebrating our unique national identity.
Check out an eclectic range of captivating dramas, including This Land Is Mine, an English drama, which delves into the aftermath of World War II and Singapore’s return to British rule after Japanese occupation; Cash On Delivery, a Chinese drama exploring the impacts of the pandemic as characters cope with new realities and take on COVID-19-related jobs like safe distancing ambassadors and food delivery riders; Kaki Bola, a Malay drama inspired by the friendship between Singaporean soccer legends Fandi Ahmad and Sundram S/O Moorthy and the spirit of football; and Sepoy, a Tamil drama set in 19th-century Singapore on the journey of the main character Velusamy as a Sepoy in a small trading port as he faces the challenges that arise in a Kampong.
