Lil Wild – In the Big City, Mediacorp’s new flagship pre-school reboot with award-winning partners
Singapore, 3 December 2025 – Mediacorp today announced its latest flagship pre-school series, Lil Wild – In the Big City, set to premiere in late 2026. Wholly owned and commissioned by Mediacorp, this 26-episode reboot of the well-loved Lil Wild IP marks a major step forward in the company’s commitment to creating world-class kids’ content.
Powered by a stellar line-up of award-winning creative partners, including Industrial Brothers (the acclaimed studio behind Dino Ranch and Top Wing), Anima Vitae (Moomin Valley), and Singapore’s own Scrawl Animation (Guess How Much I Love You), the refreshed edition focuses on a spirited group of animals as they explore a new urban world, promising playful humour for young viewers and richer, layered storytelling that parents can appreciate. The reboot also places greater emphasis on children’s social and emotional development. In strengthening the show’s educational value, Mediacorp engaged renowned curriculum consultant Dr. Laura Brown to shape its messages and themes of empathy, resilience, and emotional wellbeing. By grounding these elements in educational research, the series aims to help young viewers build curiosity about new experiences, while encouraging healthy interpersonal relationships.
Lil Wild – In the Big City follows five animal best friends – Rara, Wobi, Meep, Dil and Kokeko – as they leave Lil Wild Park to join a new wildlife initiative in Big Wild City, a bustling metropolis where urban living meets jungle life. As they move into a lush, eco-technological home with Suzie, a ranger who can speak to animals, this unlikely crew – from a vegan alligator to a fearless pigeon and timid tiger – navigates everyday challenges, embarks on larger-than-life adventures, and discovers that life in the big city is always lots of fun!
“Lil Wild – In the Big City is a shining example of our commitment to invest in creating premium children’s programming with partners who are masters of storytelling. While entertaining and inspiring our young audiences, the series will also reinforce positive values of friendship, courage and discovery, and also support their learning and growth beyond the screen,” said Angeline Poh, Chief Customer and Corporate Development Officer, Mediacorp.
Industrial Brothers’ Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Matthew Fernandes said, “Our collaboration with Scrawl and Mediacorp on Lil Wild – In the Big City has allowed Industrial Brothers to bring fresh creative energy to the series. Backed by our talented team and proven track record in global kids IP, we’re creating fun, character-driven stories that connect with global audiences.” For more information on Industrial Brothers, please refer to the Annex.
Curriculum consultant, Dr Laura Brown shared, “Lil Wild – In the Big City helps children build resilience and social emotional skills for the world beyond home. Like the Lil Wild gang, preschoolers must navigate new experiences, expectations and people when they leave the safety of home. It’s exciting, but it can be daunting, too! As our characters manage big feelings, form big friendships and enjoy big firsts, viewers learn strategies to greet their own adventures with excitement, confidence and social emotional competence.” For more information on Dr Laura Brown, please refer to the Annex.
