Mediacorp and Mission International strike up partnership to jointly develop multi-genre productions

Both parties will come together for the first time to collaborate on a series of content development projects.


Singapore, 7 December 2023 – Singapore’s largest content creator Mediacorp and leading Taiwanese production company Mission International have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Asia TV Forum & Market 2023 today. With this partnership, both parties will come together for the first time to collaborate on a series of content development projects, with a view to creating the next groundbreaking production to hit audiences in Singapore, Taiwan, and beyond.

Kicking off the partnership, Mediacorp, together with Mission International – helmed by celebrated producer Angie Chai (柴智屏), best known for conceiving hit teen idol drama Meteor Garden (流星花园) and forming megastar boyband F4 (see Annex A for Chai’s profile) – will co-develop scripts in the following genres or themes:

  • Fantasy romance, involving romantic storylines intertwined with elements of fantasy;
  • Growing up, with an emphasis on coming-of-age experiences by young individuals; and
  • Female empowerment, with narratives that highlight the personal growth and emotional journeys of female characters.

Thereafter, both companies will work together on other aspects of these projects by leveraging artistic and production talents from both Singapore and Taiwan.
