Mediacorp and TaiwanPlus dish out Double Yummy, a cross-cultural feast bridging borders and generations

The new food travelogue is presently being filmed in various locations across Singapore and Taiwan, well known for their vibrant culinary scenes.

Singapore, 22 July 2025 – Singapore’s largest content creator, Mediacorp and Taiwanese international media platform, TaiwanPlus have teamed up to collaborate on an English-language infotainment programme that brings together two well-loved subjects: food and travel.  Titled Double Yummy, the new food travelogue is presently being filmed in various locations across Singapore and Taiwan, well known for their vibrant culinary scenes.

Over six sumptuous episodes, Double Yummy will let viewers savour the colourful and diverse food cultures of Singapore and Taiwan through the eyes and taste buds of its hosts: Mediacorp CLASS 95 presenter Yasminne Cheng; and Taiwanese actor Andrew Chau周厚安, son of legendary singer Wakin Chau 周华健.

From street food vendors to high-end restaurants, Double Yummy will showcase how food serves as a bridge between generations, communities, and even geographies. Each episode will delve into one of six common ingredients – chicken, beef, fish, crab, pork and noodles – and explore how it is interpreted, prepared and enjoyed in each city. Renowned chefs from Singapore and Taiwan will then put their culinary skills to the test by whipping up their own reinterpretations of the dish featured in each episode.

Virginia Lim, Chief Content Officer, Mediacorp, said, “Partnering with TaiwanPlus to offer Double Yummy to audiences in Singapore, Taiwan and beyond allows us to connect people through the universal language of food and entertainment. This latest collaboration underlines Mediacorp’s commitment to work with global partners on a wide repertoire of both scripted and non-scripted projects, leveraging the creative and production talents from both ends to bring authentic stories from Singapore and Taiwan to our audiences.”

Eric Yang, Deputy Director of TaiwanPlus, said, “We are honoured to partner with Mediacorp on Double Yummy, a programme that highlights the rich culinary traditions of both Taiwan and Singapore. Food is more than a universal language; it is a reflection of heritage, creativity, and identity. This show brings those elements to life through flavour and storytelling. Through this collaboration, TaiwanPlus continues to showcase the depth and diversity of Taiwan while building cultural connections with global audiences.”

Double Yummy recently completed filming in Taiwan, with production in Singapore slated to begin at the end of July 2025. The series is expected to air on Mediacorp’s and TaiwanPlus’ platforms by 2026.
