Mediacorp breaks ground in local micro-drama scene with inaugural First Frames: SG60 call-for-proposal
Singapore, 5 December 2024 – Think you have what it takes to create the next viral micro-drama? Mediacorp, Singapore’s national media network and biggest content creator, is inviting creative pitches for an exciting new micro-drama initiative, First Frames: SG60. This call-for-proposals aims to uncover compelling short-form stories that celebrate Singapore’s journey and aspirations, coinciding with the nation’s 60th birthday in 2025.
First Frames: SG60 reflects a shift towards shorter, impactful narratives and a more dynamic format of storytelling that aligns with evolving viewing habits, particularly on digital and social platforms. This initiative comes on the back of Mediacorp’s first-ever Chinese micro-drama, Falling for CEO’s Son《总裁儿子爱上我》, which stars DJs from Mediacorp YES 933 and has been a hit with viewers on TikTok since its launch in November.
By embracing this new storytelling approach, First Frames: SG60 aims to captivate and inspire a diverse, digitally savvy audience, offering fresh perspectives on Singapore’s journey as it marks its 60th year of independence.
Selected pitches must captivate viewers with authentic characters, relatable narratives and strong emotional resonance. Stories must also incorporate uniquely Singaporean elements and showcase innovative ways to explore the nation’s identity and journey.
