Mediacorp caps awards hat-trick with Blue Dolphin win at Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2026
Top network honour and four programme wins add to Mediacorp’s growing global recognition for compelling storytelling that shines a light on issues that matter
Singapore, 25 September 2026 – Mediacorp has been named TV Network of the Year, receiving the prestigious Blue Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2026. The top honour caps an awards hat-trick for Mediacorp, following its Broadcaster of the Year wins at both the World Media Festivals and New York Festivals TV & Film earlier this year.
The Blue Dolphin TV Network of the Year award was earned on the back of four other Mediacorp programme awards – two Gold Dolphins and two Silver Dolphins – doubling its tally of two wins last year. Together, the accolades mark another milestone in a standout year of international recognition for Mediacorp, reflecting the growing global resonance of its storytelling and its commitment to bringing compelling stories and distinctive Asian perspectives to audiences around the world.
The Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards celebrate excellence in corporate films, online media and documentaries from around the world, recognising outstanding storytelling and craftsmanship. Mediacorp’s four programme wins went to One “Orphan” Every Hour, Walk the Line: ICE Nation, Chiang Kai-shek: Shadow Across the Strait and The Mark of Empire: Kingdoms of the Sea. Bones of Contention, produced by Elefant Films, also received a Finalist Diploma in the “Environment, Ecology and Sustainability” category.
Spanning history, culture, politics and pressing social issues, the four winning programmes demonstrate the breadth of Mediacorp’s factual storytelling and its commitment to bringing important stories and Asian perspectives to wider audiences. The wins include:
- One “Orphan” Every Hour – Gold Dolphin for “Human Concerns and Social Issues”, for shining a light on the experiences of South Korean adoptees searching for their roots and examining the country’s decades-long international adoption system. The series also received a Grand Award at the World Media Festivals 2026.
- Walk the Line: ICE Nation – Gold Dolphin for “Political Issues”, for following CNA journalist Wei Du as she reconnects with Chinese migrants in the United States and examines their pursuit of the American dream. The programme is the sequel to CNA’s acclaimed Walk the Line, which received a Gold at the New York Festivals TV & Film 2025 for “Documentary: Current Affairs”.
- Chiang Kai-shek: Shadow Across the Strait – Silver Dolphin for “History and Personalities/Portraits”, for examining Chiang Kai-shek’s complex legacy and its continuing impact on Taiwan’s politics and identity.
- The Mark of Empire: Kingdoms of the Sea – Silver Dolphin for “Ethnology and Sociology”, for exploring the histories and enduring influence of four maritime powers across Asia. Produced by IFA, the series is part of the award-winning The Mark of Empire series.
Walter Fernandez, Editor-in-Chief, Mediacorp, said: “Being named TV Network of the Year and winning the Blue Dolphin at the prestigious Cannes television awards is a tremendous global honour for Mediacorp. This recognition on the back of being named Broadcaster of the Year at both the World Media Festivals in Berlin and again at the New York Festivals earlier this year, completes an unprecedented hat-trick of international recognition in a single year. The Cannes TV Network of the Year win was earned on the back of four awards – two Gold Dolphin awards and two Silver Dolphin awards presented to CNA, the global news brand of Mediacorp. These four international awards are testament to the world-class quality of craft and content produced by the CNA teams and their production partners. More importantly the wins recognise the distinctive strengths of CNA on the global stage. Its ability to bring an Asian perspective to major global stories through in-depth and independent reporting. And its commitment to identify and investigate impactful Asian stories – even if they are controversial – for a global audience. With intimate access to migrants facing the dramatic immigration changes in the United States, ICE Nation goes beyond the political debate to examine the human consequences. Chiang Kai-shek: Shadow Across the Strait explores not just his contested legacy but also the contrasting treatment of his legacy on either side of the Taiwan Strait. One “Orphan” Every Hour breaks the mould of traditional reporting on the international adoption of Korean children by scrutinising the role and accountability of others involved including Western governments, religious organisations, and adoption agencies. These awards are the adrenaline that drives the CNA newsroom to inform, engage and have an impact on its audiences every day.”
