Mediacorp expands global creative footprint with international script co-development project Lives at Stake (EMT 救援事件簿)
Singapore, 10 November 2025 – Mediacorp is deepening its creative footprint in international content development through a new partnership with acclaimed Taiwanese production company Sky Limit Pictures (頑影映像有限公司), the production team behind Our Blues (我們的藍調時光), the Taiwan adaptation of the hit Korean drama. Together, they will co-develop the script for Lives at Stake (EMT 救援事件簿) — a gripping drama exploring the courage, compassion, and moral dilemmas of first responders.
The collaboration marks a new phase in Mediacorp’s international ventures, reflecting its growing focus on creative exploration and story development. Through this story-first approach, Mediacorp aims to identify strong concepts with global potential and nurture them from inception to screen, reaffirming its long-term commitment to cultivating original stories and fostering cross-border creative partnerships.
Set against the high-pressure world of emergency rescue, Lives at Stake follows Ma Chenghao (Xiao Ma), a survivor of a concert stampede who joins a volunteer EMT team. As he faces life-and-death rescues and confronts his own trauma, Xiao Ma embarks on a journey of redemption and rediscovers his purpose in saving lives.
Lives at Stake brings together the storytelling strengths of Singapore and Taiwan, anchored by rich character journeys and emotionally compelling narratives that illuminate the human spirit in times of crisis. This collaboration also forms part of Medicorp’s broader strategy to co-develop distinctive Asian stories with international partners, building a strong pipeline of premium dramas shaped by diverse creative perspectives and crafted to engage audiences around the world.
Notably, Lives at Stake originated as one of the winning concepts from Mediacorp’s joint screenplay competition with the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) – a milestone that underscores Mediacorp’s commitment to nurturing promising creative ideas uncovered through its content development initiatives, and supporting their full journey from concept to completion.
