Mediacorp launches Bloomr.SG Incubator Programme and third edition of Accelerator programme to nurture content creating talent

The Incubator builds on the success of the Accelerator, a key initiative in Mediacorp’s vision to create a vibrant and self-sustaining social creator ecosystem in Singapore.

Singapore, 1 June 2023 – Mediacorp has unveiled its first ever Bloomr.SG Incubator Programme, designed to groom outstanding content creators and open doors for them to showcase their talents through more high value commercial opportunities and brand collaborations. This new initiative is an extension of Mediacorp’s popular Bloomr.SG Multi-Channel Network (MCN) Accelerator, which is also now open for applications for its third intake.

With the Incubator, select content creators will be awarded exclusive management contracts with Mediacorp and will be provided extensive training and support in a variety of areas such as hosting, acting and production. The maiden run of the Bloomr.SG Incubator welcomes six multi-hyphenate personalities[1]; namely, Munah Bagharib, Royce Lee, Tabitha Nauser, Norbin Ngoh, Trevor Tham and Celine Leong (also known as MiniMoochi), who collectively share more than two million followers across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.

This builds on the success of the Accelerator, a key initiative in Mediacorp’s vision to create a vibrant and self-sustaining social creator ecosystem in Singapore. Launched in 2021 with support from YouTube, the Accelerator has to date seen over 160 content creators – including familiar names such as Wah!Banana, The Travel Intern and Urban Xtreme Monkeys (UXM) –  graduate and create a total of over 2,500 minutes of content during their stints with the Accelerator, amassing more than six million views.

For its third intake from July to December 2023, the Bloomr.SG MCN Accelerator will provide support to aspiring, emerging and established social-first creators in four key areas, namely: education & training, resources & recognition, content & IP development, and monetisation. The programme comprises two streams: Basic and Advanced, to better cater to creators at varying stages of their content creation journeys, with a total of 16 workshops led by industry partners such as YouTube, as well as local and regional content creators.

Successful graduates will also have opportunities to participate in Calls for Proposals (CFPs) to produce monetisable commissioned content with Mediacorp and advertisers. They may also receive funding to develop future ideas on their own channels and potentially see their works featured across Mediacorp’s network. Furthermore, those who excel in the Accelerator programme can look forward to other unique and market-first business development opportunities as they join the Bloomr.SG Multi-Channel Network.
